Edeatate Disodium Reagent grade
Calcium Carbonate PS (previously dried for 2 hour at 105°)
Hydrochloric Acid Dilute
Sodium Hydroxide 1 Normal
Hydroxy napthol blue Indicator
➤ Preparation.
Weigh 18.6 g Edeatate Disodium / Disodium Edeatate reagent
grade in 1000 ml volumetric flask. Dissolve in sufficient water by warming,
cool and dilute up to the mark with water.
➤ Standardisation.
Accurately weigh about 0.1 g calcium carbonate PS, previously
dried for 2 hour at 105°, in to a 250 ml conical flask. Dissolve in 10 ml water
and 2 ml dilute hydrochloric acid and dilute to about 100 ml with water. To
this solution add 15 ml 1N sodium hydroxide solution and 0.2 g of hydroxy
napthol blue indicator and titrate with Edeatate Disodium / Disodium Edeatate
solution till the red colour of solution changes to blue colour.
